In 2016, the UK Chromatographic Society organised their first ‘Grassroots’ educational event in the Lake District. This one-of-a-kind meeting was designed to meet the needs of young and early-career researchers with an interest in all things chromatographic. Led by veteran chromatographers from instrumentation and pharmaceutical companies as well as from academia, the meeting combined lectures on fundamental separation science principles with hands-on training in LC troubleshooting and method development. The lectures and workshops were interspersed with social events, which allowed the attendees to engage in a more relaxed environment with the experts present, while also getting a glimpse of the stunning landscape of the Lake District.
Given the success of last year’s meeting, it comes as no surprise that the ChromSoc will be offering this course again in 2017. This time, the course will be held in historic Church Stretton, from the 1st to the 4th of September. A full course schedule and meeting agenda can be found here, and the Separation Science Group is pleased to be supporting one of the many student bursaries available for the event. The event website provides complete details regarding registration, accommodation and travel information, along with biographies of the presenters. If you’re a student or an early-career researcher interested in learning more about separation science, this event is definitely for you!
